An entrance fee of a donation of food is required for the Christmas course and this year, all COOK customers donated to assist FORA (friends of rescued animals) in finding a new home.
Besides delivering a massive boot full of dog and cat food (as well as some “human” treats for the staff), COOK customers raised R7500.
In December I visited the new home of FORA. It’s so well maintained, even the cattery cages have a tree planted in each pen. There are many homeless animals, and as FORA have a no-kill policy, some are there for the duration of their life.
Visit FORA’s website: www.fora.org.za for details of the new premises in Krugersdorp and pop around with your kids with some beeno’s and treats. Its great to get your kids to volunteer to help wash and feed the animals and the facilities are very clean and neat.
