Christmas inspiration, gifts and styling

I came up with this idea for Christmas 2010 and it’s one of my favourite festive crafts:
Take skewers and paint them with craft paint (buy little containers for R5 from the Crafters market).
Google various Christmas shapes and clipart and print them out onto some coloured and white scrap paper or cardboard.
Alternatively source stars and shapes from scrap shops.
Cut out the shapes and using a glue gun or glue stick adhere them to the skewers.
They can be used for strawberries (to dip into little pails of chocolates), cheese or just for general décor. Also pop marshmallows or mini donuts onto the skewers for the kids to dip into chocolate and serve them something fun instead of traditional un-friendly Christmas fare, like mince pies and Christmas cake or pudding.
Clever ways to give your gifts a festive sparkle: Add scrap rub-ons and stickers or alternatively glue gun Woolworth’s chocolate balls onto the gift or bag in the shape of a tree.
