Strawberry bread 01/02/2010
This bread is so simple and quick to prepare-no sifting, no machinery and no scale required, just my kind of recipe! Serve it for tea, breakfast or dessert, with thick butter…. Strawberry bread 1½ cups flour 1 cup sugar ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt Place in bowl Combine the following ingredients and add to dry mix: 2 eggs 2/3 cup oil (I use Canola) 1 tsp orange or lemon zest 1 tsp vanilla extract Stir in: 1x 250g punnet strawberries, hulled and cut into smaller pieces ½ cup chopped pecans Bake at 180 ˚in a silicone loaf pan for 1 hour and 10 minutes Serve with thick butter CommentsJoan McLachlan Wed, 10 Feb 2010 7:59:21 am Joan McLachlan Wed, 10 Feb 2010 8:03:21 am This loaf is DIVINE!!!
