Baked Cheese and Corn Samoosas 27/04/2010
So my husband and I popped into a little Indian shop to buy Bindi’s for my Bollywood crafts and were both quite surprised at long queue –all waiting to buy a samoosa. An oily, fried samoosa. I was absolutely disgusted. With a cluck of the tongue and a shake of the head we popped off to join my friend for skinny cappuccino. On the way back to our car, I popped in again for a spice I had forgotten on my first trip. This time I turned and asked my husband if he would like a samoosa and he nodded with a smile. The crowd of people reassured me that the samoosa’s were A) Fresh -because of the turnover of people and samoosas and B) Not as oily as I must have originally imagined as there were skinny woman in the queue. I folded. I bought an oily cheese and corn samoosa for myself and gobbled it up with glee! If you love the taste but not the calories, try this baked version made with phyllo.
